Everyone loves attending a  rip roaring traditional pantomime over the Christmas holidays with a good dollop of old fashioned fun and slapstick comedy thrown in by the bucket load.

Miracle Theatre's brilliantly composed production for this year adapted from Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island fits the bill perfectly with its bawdy humour, nautical setting and sea shanties a plenty!

Eden Project Festival of Christmas - 30th November to 30th December

An amazing family day out not to be missed as Eden are once again pulling out all the stops over the festive holidays.

For the little ones, a visit to see Father Christmas and his friendly band of elves in their very own on site camp is definitely one to have on the agenda.  They will get to see inside his magical tent where the elves are beavering away and colourful christmas stockings all lined up waiting to be filled then delivered to sleeping children on Christmas Eve!  A festive story will be read by a cosy open fire and each child will have some special 'one on one time' with the man himself!

Eden's sparkly, spangly indoor ice rink has become a Christmas regular in Cornwall (open right through to February), it's the only one in the county!  With cute penguin skating aids available for the tinies and snowman skating aids for taller peeps, it's a chance to have some manic, fast pace fun for all ages from 3 to 83 !

Gather round Eden's huge twinkling Christmas tree whilst listening to a traditional brass band performing in the background and be engulfed in a warm and celebratory atmosphere!

Visit after nightfall and take the opportunity to amble through the spectacular Avenue of Lights show and wander round the beautifully lit biomes greeting Eden's cast of magical friendly Christmas characters along the way.

After all this activity, visit one of the many cafes on site to indulge in some locally produced seasonal treats and spoil them with a delicious hot chocolate drink!

Christmas and New Year at Heligan - 1st December to 04th January

Drop by the Lost Gardens of Heligan during December and you will be welcomed into an enchanting realm of Christmas cheer and festivity.  Take a peek at our favourites below for a taster of the fabulous events being held at Heligan this Year:

Pull on your wellies, wrap yourselves up in warm weather gear and follow the Sensory Trail as it weaves it's way through the grounds.  Merry Christmas songs will be playing in the background creating a tranquil setting in which to stop by and watch the antics of a variety of cheeky feathered friends peeking out from under the bushes, sniff and decipher aromas of Christmastime and chortle at the suitably naff cracker jokes provided for your entertainment !

Pop in to see Father Christmas who will be landing at Heligan alongside his unruly crew of rascally elves ready to spend some time with each child and find out what's on their Christmas list for this year !  Each exceptionally well behaved little person will receive a special present from the man in red !

Visit 'Heligan by Night' to experience the dazzling art of illumination.  Wonder through the gardens in the gloaming to explore enthralling projections and surreal lighting focused on the plants, historic walls and buildings throughout the estate.  Take time to view fascinating projections of Heligan's busy black bees and additional activities taking place in the gardens throughout the year.  Be sure to dig out those mittens, scarves, beanies and wellies beforehand though, it will be cold out there, brrrrr !
